Icon-bigDevoxx, my personal happiest moment of the year, is coming very fast now. And this year I added a special interest to it with the development on Conference Guide. For those who don’t know it yet, Conference Guide is a service that can store session and speaker information for any conference. But the most visible part of it is certainly the mobile clients. Yes, you read me right: there are several mobile clients. I started with the development of an iPhone application to browse conference information, but then a fellow Belgian developer, Claes Buckwalter, joined me to build an Android client. For your information, Conference Guide for iPhone is already available on the App Store FOR FREE. Conference Guide for Android will be available very soon on the Android Marketplace, FOR FREE too!

So if you are attending Devoxx this year, and you want to browse sessions and speakers from your iPhone or Android phone, feel free to install it on your device. Just keep in mind that this is just a first version of the application. It has a few known limitations (including the fact that you need a data connection to use it) and very simplistic features. But we will use Devoxx as a first test and we will add more features and more conferences as time goes. We already have a few conference organizers who want to provide their information via Conference Guide. So stay tuned for more.

And by the way, if you want to meet me or Claes at Devoxx next week, we’ll be there of course.
